Honor Flight 2016 looks Rosie
The 2016 Flying Season began with the "Rosies" brought to DC by Talons Out Honor Flight and sponsored by Ford Motor Company. They were brought first to Capitol Hill and then down to the WWII Memorial where a good many volunteers had assembled to greet them
It was a delightful start to the season and a lot of the "usual suspects" were out to greet!

Part of the National unity we had during WWII was certainly the Rosie's who stepped way out there traditional comfort zone to do their part...not just to release men to fight...but in reality to do critical work to support the war effort. In so doing, they opened the closed door and established the role for women as equals of men in the workplace. That role continues to evolve and the WWII Rosies as well as all WWII women veterans led the way.
