Washington, DC 02-10-2008.  Honor Flight Founder and President, Earl Morse and Ground Operations Manager Dave Bauer met with Former Senator Robert Dole at the recent 2008 Honor Flight Network (HFN) Summit.  Over 100 attendees from across America discussed strategies for transporting 12,000 WWII veterans to Washington, DC in 2008.  The trips are totally free for the vets. Honor Flight is a nonprofit service organization that has transported over 5000 WWII veterans to Washington, DC to visit the WWII Memorial dedicated to their sacrifice.   Honor Flight volunteers are located in twenty-four states.  The weekend leadership conference was designed to train volunteers to conduct improved flight and bus operations throughout the country.  Senator Dole, a national leader who championed support and creation of the WWII Memorial, serves as the “unofficial memorial greeter” for HFN groups upon their arrival.
