THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!...
and that's not just you veterans. It's for everyone who's contributing to the freedoms and well-being that we enjoy in this country... My son was and is a Marine and my father a sailor and veteran of WWII. I was drawn into book publishing with the building of the WWII Memorial. And hanging out on the Mall with the likes of Senator Dole and the supporters of Honor Flight has been a bonus.
My warehouse is located just outside DC. International Fulfillment Corporation is a boutique operation. They have been a major upside to my little publishing business providing brains and brawn! They have indexed the client list for shipping and helped me set up the DC PHOTO BOOKS website and link it to the inventory. They also have a truck and make deliveries to hotels and locations in DC where conventional carriers might not have access.
With their help, I can store sets of books for hubs who purchased for the year (hint: discount) to insure that they had continuity in their gifting and general operations. I plan to print the DC PHOTO BOOK (Vol 4) again. The owner of IFC assured me they will be around next year so I'm in business as long as they are. As I mentioned in a recent email, I'm getting old and creaky (and cranky it's been hinted) and it's difficult to get out and about. I am judging camera quality by weight in pounds rather than megapixel. Asia Pacific Offset, my other ace in the hole, is rocking with clients like Paul McCartney (300,00 two volume books and still printing) and Spike Lee's new volume so as long as I can maintain the quality and service, ...
I am honored to be featured and sold in the National Archives and Eastern National bookstores. Guest Services has books in both the North and South kiosks around the Lincoln. The National Archives houses our history and I had the good fortune to the only photographer ever allowed in the vault where the Declaration of Independence is stored and displayed! For the price of a baseball cap, you can gift these evergreen books which serve as a long term reminder of your part in their special day of Honor.
I've recommended Zenfolio to the Honor Flights primarily as an inexpensive storage website for your images. Ten years ago, I arranged for Honor Flight hubs to get a 20 percent discount and if Honor Flight Chicago is the norm, their servers are busy! I've taken advantage of the Zenfolio's design features, eliminated the "BROWSE FEATURE" and substituted "SEARCH" boxes to speed your image search so if I attended your event, it's catalogued by State or event name and you can take a look.
If you are interested in prints, get in touch with the studio to confirm the specifications and I'll be happy to work with you to size and design. I've been working with metal prints of late and getting beautiful results.
This blog is ongoing and hopefully provides context for the books and information for those of you visiting Washington.
