ADVERTISING, PUBLISHING AND AI

October 29, 2025

I ordered the HONOR FLIGHT PHOTO book Friday and it's in the pipeline.  Designed for Honor Flight fans as opposed to the DC PHOTO  BOOK which is a more comprehensive look at DC and is an in-depth view of our beautiful Capitol.  As usual when I finish a book and start spending on printing, I have images all over the place and decided to put some of them to use.

To that end, I've been playing with AI. To create these videos, I merged the AI software into my DCPHOTOBOOKS.COM website which has sample images of all the books and in ten minutes, these videos were ready for prime time.  Unfortunately not what I was looking for.   I would prefer the audio without the character as the AI drew all the spoken information accurately from my websites although the 2nd character made up a discount if you buy both the DC PHOTO BOOK and the HONOR FIGHT IMAGES book.  Pretty amazing.  All of the 100 plus characters available but none feel real and do a terrible job of displaying the images.

Since the principal characters in each of these videos are AI, no need for a model release and of course, the only cost was the price of the software.  I have not been a fan of AI but always interested in an easier way to let people know abut my work.  Photographing, design software, et...and printing and shipping books from Asia to DC and then distributing them is a complex and interesting mix of photography, design and tech.  It's a wacky world!               f57a1436-937e-49a9-8f61-0d00fdcd37bff57a1436-937e-49a9-8f61-0d00fdcd37bf

I let another AI rewrite the introduction to the book and it did a pretty good job. I bring all of this up because I am thinking of closing up shop next year but quite frankly am finding the tech in photography and software pretty interesting and since they are mutually self supporting and the majority of the work Is done.....

Why You Should Own DC PHOTO BOOK
by Stephen R. Brown

Washington, D.C. is more than monuments and marble —
it’s a living city with rhythm, resilience, and remarkable beauty. DC PHOTO BOOK captures that spirit through the lens of award-winning photographer Stephen R. Brown, whose images celebrate both the grandeur and
the quiet details that define the nation’s capital. From sunrise over the Lincoln Memorial to the solemn geometry of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, this book is a journey through time and light. Each photograph reveals a new perspective on a city we think we know — the reflections, the symmetry, the moments between the crowds.

Printed with museum-quality precision and paired with thoughtful captions, DC PHOTO BOOK is both a keepsake and a work of art — perfect for anyone who loves photography, architecture, or the soul of Washington, D.C.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a frequent visitor, or someone who simply admires the city’s enduring symbolism, this collection brings the capital to your coffee table in a way that feels fresh, authentic, and deeply American.

Own a piece of the city. See D.C. the way only a photographer can show it
